Grade 1 "Eyes on Owls" 2008

Marcia and Mark Wilson run EYES ON OWLS as an educational enterprise that brings wild owls to schools to teach students about our wild neighbors and their habitats. Marcia has been visiting Pike First Graders each year since 1996. After a slide presentation of beautiful owl photographs by Mark Wilson, Marcia introduced to the First Graders six of her live companions: a tiny saw-whet owl, a screech owl, a barred owl, a great horned owl, a snowy owl, and a Eurasian eagle owl. All but the last are native to North America and can be found in our immediate area during at least some parts of the year.
