Kindergarten Science at Phillips Academy '08

Pike Kindergarteners visited with Phillips Academy science students at the Gelb Center for some hands-on exploration of comparative skeletal structures, differences in birds' beaks, similarities and differences among spiders and insects, the insulating qualities of polar bear blubber, the effectiveness of camouflage, and the way things look under a microscope.

Each area of inquiry was set up with experiments, and each Pike student chose four stations to visit out of the six. The Phillips Academy students set up the experiments as a culmination of the Pike Kindergarten's science curriculum for the year.
