Lower School Community Read-Along

Every year, volunteers from the Andover-area community visit the Lower School to read aloud from their favorite children’s books. Each classroom, from Pre-K through Second Grade welcomes a special guest, including state legislators, police officers, current Pike parents, the parents of long-graduated Pike students, members of the League of Women Voters, which sponsors the program, and others who appreciate the importance of making the connection between the school and the larger community.

This year’s readers were Vicki Boylan, Linda Schoonmaker, Jane Gossard, Lynn Smiledge, Alex Driscoll, Karla Cook, Joyce Leary, Penny Kohut, and Senator Sue Tucker. Head of Lower School Debbie Anderson graciously sat in for Officer Cronin, a perennial favorite who was unable to attend this year.
