Grade 7 Math: Castles '08

To conclude the unit on surface area and volume of three-dimensional solids, Mrs. Latham gave her Seventh Grade students the following assignment:

Design a castle with at least four towers that can be of any shape or size, but you must use at least one prism, one pyramid, one cylinder, one cone, and one sphere (or hemisphere) in your design.

The final project included:
A sketch of the castle with dimensions
A net for the castle with dimensions
A calculation of the surface area and volume
    A model of the castle
A story to go along with the castle.

Enjoy their very creative math work.
