Welcome to The Pike School.
If you have not already visited our Home page, we invite you to do so for a whirlwind tour of the way a Pike education, at all levels, is built around the things we most value and strive to instill in our students: a life-long love of learning, respect for others, the joy of physical activity, and a creative spirit. We invite you also to visit our “A Day in the Life” pages for a quick glimpse into the classrooms of the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools. These are the kinds of things you are likely to experience if you choose to visit Pike in person. At Pike we are invested in the process of our students becoming independent learners and responsible citizens. Our teachers know how to challenge their students to new heights, while supporting them with a smile and kind words. Our small class sizes allow teachers to truly know their students and provide individual guidance to match their learning styles. Our academic resources, commitment to the arts, and robust sports programs ensure a well-rounded curriculum that turns out well-rounded students. We work in combination with our dedicated parents to chart the most appropriate path for each child. The end result is an environment filled with compassion and challenge as well as commitment to valuing each individual’s contribution to the whole. The Pike School seeks qualified students who represent a diverse range of racial, economic, cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. We recognize the importance of that kind of diversity, as well as gender balance, at each grade. As a result, Pike’s student body is 27% diverse. The admission committees identify students who have the ability to succeed at Pike. Those students demonstrate strength in a variety of areas, show commitment to learning, and exhibit the respect necessary for building a strong community. The Pike School Admission Office extends preference to qualified sibling applicants of currently enrolled students and children of faculty and staff for Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Grade 6; however, acceptance is not guaranteed. |
