How to Apply

Our application process is designed to help us learn as much as possible about prospective students and to have students and their parents learn as much as possible about us. The deadline for applications for the 2008-2009 academic year is January 11, 2008. All decision letters are mailed before March 10, 2008.  

For application to Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5

1. Submit the Application for Admission Form and the $45 application fee. The application deadline is January 11, 2008.  A separate application should be submitted for each child applying.
2. Call the Admission Office to schedule a parent interview and tour of the school.  
3. After submission of the application, receive from The Pike School a Teacher Recommendation Form. This form should be given to the candidate’s current teacher, completed and returned directly to The Pike School from the teacher by February 1, 2008.
4. After submission of the application, receive from The Pike School a Transcript Release Form.  This form should be given to the candidate's current school after the first reporting period and returned to The Pike School by February 1, 2008.
5. Receive from The Pike School the dates and times of the candidate’s evaluations.

For application to Grade 6 through Grade 9

1. Submit the Application for Admission Form and the $45 application fee. The application deadline is January 11, 2008.  A separate application should be submitted for each child applying.
2. Call the Admission Office to schedule an applicant and parent interview and tour of the school.
3. Take either the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) or the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE) by mid-January. Test results must be received by The Pike School by February 1, 2008.
4. After submission of application, receive from The Pike School a Teacher Recommendation Form. This form should be given to the candidate’s current teacher, completed and returned directly to The Pike School from the teacher by February 1, 2008. Applicants for Grades 8 and 9 will receive Teacher Evaluation Forms that will be given to the student's current English and math teachers. These forms should be completed and returned to Pike by February 1, 2008.
5. After submission of the application receive from The Pike School a Transcript Release Form. This form should be given to the candidate’s current school after the first marking period and the transcript returned to The Pike School by February 1, 2008.
6. Applicants for Grades 8 and 9 are also requested to spend a full morning at Pike. During this visit, applicants will attend classes and an Upper School assembly and also complete a math and writing assessment.
