The Pike School Intern Scholars Grant

The Pike School believes that the quality of our future civic, social and economic life depends on children being educated in an environment that is inclusive of all individuals.  As part of our commitment to diversifying the teaching corps, Pike has established a grant to support this initiative. This grant is open to men and people of color seeking Massachusetts Initial Licensure and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education.
 
To qualify for The Pike School Intern Scholars Grant, individuals must meet the following criteria:
  • Completion of a B.A. or B.S. at a four year accredited college or university
  • G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher
  • Demonstration of a strong commitment to elementary education

Submission Deadlines
The application date for the fall 2008 semester is January 15, 2008. Applications received after January 15, 2008 will be considered for both admission and The Intern Scholars Grant on a space-and-funds available basis. We encourage applicants to submit their applications as early as possible for consideration for The Intern Scholars Grant.

Grant Amount
      $10,000 to partially cover cost of Lesley/Pike tuition

Essay Question
Please respond to The Pike School mission statement:  The Pike School seeks to develop within its community a life-long love of learning, respect for others, the joy of physical activity and a creative spirit.  A Pike education is a journey that prepares students to be independent learners and responsible citizens.

  • Your essay should be type written and contain no more than 500 words.
