For Pike Parents
PARENTS ASSOCIATION
Welcome to The Pike School Parents Association. As a parent of an enrolled child you are automatically a member.
The mission statement of the Parents Association (PA) reads as follows:
Mission
The Parents Association seeks to promote cooperation and communication among parents, faculty and administration, and to conduct activities for the benefit of the school and students.
In an effort to live up to our goals of the mission statement the PA sponsors many social events at the school. These include but are not limited to the Fall Supper, Halloween Social, and Student Concerts. We also support other activities related to the school, some of which are the Back to School Nights, Art Show, and Service Clubs.
The PA is run by the executive board whose members you can find under the Parents Association Executive Board portion of the website. The executive board determines the allocation of funds and runs the activities as noted above. Support to the board is given by the Room Parents and the parent community at large in turn supports them.
Funds are derived from the dues families pay along with their tuition. Costs for some events sponsored by the PA are defrayed by ticket sales/entrance fees and are not to be confused with fundraisers.
Everyone on the board along with the room parents is a volunteer. There are numerous volunteer opportunities throughout the school year for everyone and calls are made either through the website or class parents. There is no greater way to be involved with your child in their school social life than through the hands on experience of volunteering. From baking cookies to supervising crafts and games to chaperoning field trips or setting up for events there is a never ending need for assistance and the chance for developing new friendships and acquaintances.
