Pike, like all independent schools, depends upon the generosity of our community to sustain and advance the mission of the School.  There are many ways that parents, alumni, grandparents, parents of alumni, and friends can take an active role in fostering the School’s mission and ensuring the best possible educational environment for students and faculty at Pike.

Pike’s  fundraising initiatives consist of four ongoing but separate programs:

Ways to Give

Cash and Credit Card Gifts
Gifts may be made by check, payable to The Pike School, or credit card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover). Many donors choose to make their gifts before December 31 in order to receive a tax deduction within that year.
Gifts (annual Fund only) may also be made online by credit card.

Stock Gifts
It is often more tax-wise to contribute stock instead of cash. Gifts of appreciated securities generally offer a two-fold savings: The donor avoids paying any capital gains tax on the increased value of the stock, and the donor receives an income tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock at the time of the gift.

Matching Gifts
Many employers will match your charitable gift, doubling or tripling the dollar value of your contribution. If your company has a matching gift program, please enclose the form along with your check.

Planned Gifts
The type of planned gift that is best for you will depend upon your financial goals. A bequest, for instance, allows you to make a provision in your will for The Pike School. A will is an integral part of financial planning, and a charitable bequest reduces or, in some cases, eliminates federal estate taxes owed.

Multiyear Pledges
"I wish I could give more" is a phrase we often hear. Sometimes a one-time payment doesn't make the impact a donor wishes it could. Multiyear pledges offer the opportunity for our donors to think more expansively about a gift to Pike. A pledge fulfilled over three to five years allows our donors the maximum flexibility to achieve their philanthropic goals at Pike.
