Parent/Guardian Book Club @ Pike
Tuesday, June 7
Join Pike’s Head of Lower School Marybeth Heyd and Director of External Affairs Kate Moran for an evening of good conversation, camaraderie and tasty treats. We will be discussing What Do You Say?: How to Talk with Kids to Build Motivation, Stress Tolerance, and a Happy Home.
What do you say? is about how to engage in respectful and effective dialogue with children, beginning with defining and demonstrating the basic principles of listening and speaking.
This book discusses new ways to handle thorny topics that include delivering constructive feedback to kids; discussing boundaries around technology; explaining sleep and their brains; the anxiety of current events; and family problem-solving.
The event is open to ALL parents and guardians, whether your children attend Pike or not.
