Colleen Shannon

Coach Shannon was a standout athlete at Andover High School, excelling in three sports but finding her greatest success on the track. She still holds multiple school records, with personal bests of 2:11 in the 800 meters and 57.1 in the 400 meters. Her impressive career included winning the Massachusetts Division 1 State Championships in both the 4x400 relay and the 800 meters, and earning a second-place finish in the 1000 meters. Additionally, her sprint medley relay team achieved a top-six finish at the Nike National Championships during her senior year.
Continuing her athletic career at Penn State, Coach Shannon was a four-year varsity letter winner and a key contributor to several Big Ten Championship teams. At Penn State, she set personal bests of 1:34.24 in the 600 meters, 2:12.52 indoors in the 800 meters, and 2:10.50 outdoors in the 800 meters.
Following her collegiate career, Coach Shannon made significant contributions as an assistant and head coach for the Methuen High School track and field teams over four years. She also served as an assistant cross country coach at Andover High School for three seasons.
Jordan Kelly

Coach Kelly was a standout athlete at Thayer Academy in Braintree, excelling in football, basketball, and crew. His skills on the basketball court earned him All-Conference honors during his senior year.
Continuing his athletic journey, Coach Kelly played collegiate basketball at Gordon College, where he competed for four years and served as team captain. His passion for the sport has led him to coaching, and he has made contributions as an assistant coach for the Thayer Academy Varsity Boys Basketball team.
Sarah Carpenter
Coach Carpenter’s impressive career began at the age of 14, when she led the Chelmsford girls’ hockey team to two USA Hockey National Championships. Her athletic prowess extended beyond hockey; she also played field hockey, lacrosse, and soccer. At Pingree School, where she completed her junior and senior years, she became the first female hockey player to achieve 100 points. Her remarkable performance helped her team secure the EIL League Championship twice, and she was honored as the league MVP on two occasions, in addition to being named Boston Globe All-Scholastic twice.
Coach Carpenter continued her hockey career at Middlebury College, where she played a pivotal role on a team that remained undefeated in Division III for four years. During her tenure, Middlebury secured two ECAC Championships and clinched the inaugural AWCHA National Championships for women’s collegiate ice hockey in 2000 and 2001. In her final two seasons, she earned Second Team All-ECAC, Second Team All-American honors, and was selected for the AWCHA All-Tournament Team. Her leadership as team captain during her senior year was recognized with the Deborah Parton ’76 Memorial Award. Additionally, Coach Carpenter furthered her education by playing for Columbia University while earning her master’s degree.
From 2008 to 2016, Coach Carpenter served as the head coach for the girls’ varsity hockey team at Pingree School. Under her guidance, the team won the EIL Championship in 2013, and she was named EIL Coach of the Year four times.
Matt Medeiros

Coach Medeiros excelled in multiple sports during high school, competing in varsity basketball, baseball, and soccer. Over his four years on the varsity basketball team, he played in all 98 games, guiding Westport to an impressive overall record of 79-19. In his senior year, he averaged 24 points, 8 assists, and 3 steals per game, earning the league MVP. By the end of his high school career, he had amassed 1,118 points, a feat that earned him the Standard Times Player of the Year award and the Dave Cowens Achievement Award. On the baseball diamond, he started for three years, and in his senior season, he posted a .409 batting average with 30 RBIs. As a pitcher, he boasted a perfect 3-0 record, including pitching a perfect game. In soccer, Coach Medeiros contributed as a starting defender over three seasons, helping his team achieve a 41-14-3 record. He was named to the 2010 Standard Times Boys High School Athlete Super Team. Coach Medeiros still holds several basketball records at Westport High School, including Most Points Scored in a Single Game (47), Most Three-Pointers Made in a Game (11), and Highest Three-Point Percentage for a Season (59%). In 2024, he was honored with an induction into the Westport High School Hall of Fame.
Continuing his basketball career, Coach Medeiros played for St. Joseph’s College for four years, where he contributed to his team’s 73-37 record. His college career was marked by accolades including two-time First Team All-Conference and two-time First Team All-State honors. As a senior, he achieved career highs with an average of 18.8 points per game and led the conference while ranking second in NCAA Division III with 103 three-point field goals. He concluded his collegiate career with 1,408 points and 267 three-pointers made, earning the St. Joseph’s College Male Athlete of the Year award in 2014.
In addition to his playing career, Coach Medeiros has contributed coaching as an Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach at Durfee High School and North Andover High School.
Jo Buttress

Coach Buttress has a rich athletic background that began with her high school involvement in volleyball and softball. She continued her athletic journey as a college soccer goalie, where she honed her skills and competitive edge. Today, Coach Buttress channels her passion into tennis, having recently competed in the USTA Nationals last November.
Her impact on Pike Athletics has been profound, contributing significantly to its ongoing success. Coach Buttress has demonstrated her versatility and dedication by coaching a wide array of sports at Pike, including girls soccer, boys and girls lacrosse, boys and girls ice hockey, softball, and tennis. Her diverse experience and commitment make her an invaluable asset to the athletic program.
Jordyn Fenton

Coach Fenton enjoyed a great athletic career at Phillips Academy, where she competed in both soccer and lacrosse at the varsity level for four years, graduating in 2017. During her senior year, she served as the captain of the lacrosse team, demonstrating her leadership and skill. As a junior, she played a role in leading the soccer team to win the prestigious New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) title.
Following high school, Coach Fenton continued to excel in lacrosse at St. Michael's College, where she competed in Division II for four years. Her leadership abilities were further recognized as she captained the team for two of those seasons.
