Important  iPad Information -Apps, Meraki, Books, Drop-in Hours

Dear Upper School Families, 

Please be sure to read in full the 1-to-1 iPad initiative FAQ page.  The page has important information for all Upper School families. An archive of all iPad related emails will be available for subsequent reading.  Please bookmark the page for future reference. We recommend that you go through the information below and set up the iPad with your child.  

Apps - apps must be installed before the first day of school. 
View a list of the apps each student will need to install on their iPad.  The name of each app is a link directly to the app in the App Store. The easiest way to install these apps is to navigate to the app page on your iPad and then click on each link.  The app page can be found at the Pike website > Academics > Upper School (6-9) > iPad Apps. You will need an Apple ID to install the apps.  Some of the apps require an additional account once installed on the iPad.  The school will supply instructions for app account creation during the first few days of school. There is no need to create app accounts before school. 

Meraki profiles- Must be done before the first day of school.  
Meraki is Pike's iPad managment software. It is used to load Pike security and wireless settings onto each iPad. Click here for more information about how Pike uses Meraki.  Please note, once you have installed the Meraki profiles, you will be required to enter a passcode for your iPad.  An iPad passcode is a requirment for Pike network.

To install the Meraki profiles

1. From the iPad, In Safari, open: m.meraki.com 
2. Enter your Network ID: 026-852-2061
3. Press register
4. In the profile that appears, press 'install',the install now, then 'install' again to confirm

eBooks
Some textbooks will be replaced this year with eBooks.   Students will receive information about their eBooks in class after school starts.
