SummerReads2019

2019

Ring of flowers drawn by Pike's First Graders

At the Pike Library, we encourage students to read widely, whether it be a new genre or series, a book set in another country, or about a character different from themselves. By opening the pages of a novel or a picture book, we can travel to the Harlem Renaissance, to Hong Kong, or to Hogwarts, all courtesy of an author’s imagination.

SummerReads are compiled by Pike Librarians Francesca Mellin and Linda Spence. They are updated annually with the best new titles from every genre and with a commitment to representing multicultural perspectives.

Subscribe to Open Books, Open Minds, our blog, at http://blogs.pikeschool.org/openbook/. It's a place where you can discover great books to read, learn about authors, and share our love of reading.

Happy reading!
