Here you'll find an overview of Pike's databases, including our two video databases, as well as recommended websites, searching resources, and helpful links, curated by Pike's librarians.

Library Databases

Students access databases from the main databases page or their classroom iPad's Library folder. 

CultureGrams

Extensive information about countries, Canadian provinces, and U.S. states. A password is needed for home access (available in the Library Information Shared Google Drive folder or on the passkey page).

Kids Discover

The online, interactive version of Kids Discover magazine provides information on many academic topics. Great for casual browsing and research - use the very cool Discover Map to explore topics like technology and space science. A password is needed for home access (available in the Library Information Shared Google Drive folder or on the passkey page).

State-Provided Databases

Through Pike's membership in the Massachusetts Library System, we provide a comprehensive suite of databases, many of which integrate with Google Classroom. Click here for access. Publishers and topics include:

Learn 360 (PreK - 5)

For access, choose the "sign in with Google" option and follow the prompts. 

Learning games, STEM lessons, and videos from producers like BBC and Weston Woods. Featured elementary video series include Draw Me a StoryBitesize: Basic MathWeston Woods animated picture books, and Animals With Cameras. Longer video programs are broken up into smaller time segments. Integrates with Google Classroom.

Classroom Video on Demand (grade 6 up)

For access, choose the "sign in with Google" option and follow the prompts. 

Video content from a wide range of producers, including BBC, A & E, and CNN, that cover all content areas. Longer video programs are broken up into smaller time segments. Integrates with Google Classroom.
