After an extensive national search led by Educational Directions, we are thrilled to announce that Anne Gegg will be joining Pike as our Upper School Dean of Student Life, effective July 2026.
The Upper School Dean of Student Life position at Pike is designed to support a vibrant, inclusive, and student-centered environment. Reporting to the Head of Upper School, this non-administrative role focuses on student life and programming, with a strong emphasis on fostering growth, community engagement, and a culture of respect, responsibility, and resilience.
The search resulted in three exceptional finalists, each of whom was warmly received during their visits in early February. Faculty members highlighted that Anne “connected easily with everyone she met,” noting her genuine nature and observing her strong ability to create a safe, inclusive environment for students from diverse backgrounds. Throughout her visit, several members of the Pike community also remarked on her approachable presence, along with her thoughtful and kind interactions with students, faculty, and staff alike.
Ms. Anne Gegg (she/her/hers) currently serves as Middle School Dean of Students at Bosque School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she previously held roles as Middle School Humanities Teacher and Eighth Grade Dean. She began her career teaching English as a foreign language in Costa Rica before moving to Panama, where she worked as an elementary educator in a small, family-run school. She later joined The Metropolitan School of Panama (the MET) in Panama City, the first school in Central America to offer the full IB Continuum. During her time at the MET, she served in a range of leadership and teaching roles, including Learning Support Teacher, Middle Years Program Humanities Teacher, Creativity, Activity, Service Coordinator, and Humanities Department Head.
Anne’s extensive 17-year career in education, both internationally and in the United States, has shaped her deep commitment to building strong relationships within school communities, particularly with students, and to fostering inclusive learning environments through social-emotional learning, DEI initiatives, and engaging, community-centered activities. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Saint Leo University, an International Teaching Certificate and International Baccalaureate Teaching and Learning Certificate from the European Council of International Schools, and a Master's Degree in International Education from Framingham State University.
A Massachusetts native, Anne is excited to return home and be closer to her family in Cape Cod. After accepting Pike’s offer, she shared, “I am honored to return to Massachusetts and join the Pike community. During my visit, it was evident that Pike is a place where students genuinely enjoy learning—drawn not only to the intellectual rigor, but also to the inclusive, supportive environment. That spirit is reflected in the thoughtful, student-centered faculty and staff who welcomed me so warmly.”
We look forward to welcoming Anne to Pike in July and to the care, leadership, and energy she will bring to the Upper School community!
