After an extensive national search led by IndySchool Consultancy, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Michael S. Komich as our next Chief Financial and Operating Officer (CFOO), effective July 1, 2026.
Michael joins Pike following a distinguished career at Cheverus High School in Portland, Maine, where he served most recently as Senior Vice President for Finance and Operations. Over more than three decades at Cheverus, Michael demonstrated an exceptional ability to steward institutional resources, lead complex operational functions, and serve as a trusted partner to school leadership and trustees alike. He successfully managed 26 budgets within trustee-approved parameters, oversaw nearly $12 million in campus master plan projects, and played a central role in the school's long-range financial planning and sustainability.
As CFOO, Michael will oversee Pike's finance, facilities, human resources, and risk management functions, reporting directly to Head of School Honor Taft. He will serve as a key member of Pike's senior leadership team and as a strategic partner to the Board of Trustees, with a particular focus on long-range financial planning, multi-year financial modeling, and operational excellence as the school approaches its Centennial.
"We are thrilled to welcome Michael to the Pike community," said Ms. Taft. "His depth of experience, collaborative spirit, and commitment to mission-driven leadership make him exactly the right person to help guide Pike's next chapter."
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of New England and a Master of Business Administration from Babson College. He brings expertise across finance, facilities, human resources, technology, and auxiliary operations, along with a track record of building strong relationships across all constituencies of a school community.
