Nancy Hartmann, Pike's Director of Auxiliary Programs received the SPARC Excellence in Auxiliary Award for exemplary work and outstanding contributions to the field of independent school auxiliary programs.
The Excellence in Auxiliary Awards were announced at the 2024 SPARC National
Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nat Saltonstall, Executive Director of SPARC, was on hand to present the award.
During his introduction, SPARC Senior Advisor David Sullivan described Nancy as a “positive,
zesty, and energetic force in the New England camp and auxiliary world” and noted her 40
years of dedicated service working as a youth development professional. He quoted Interim
Head of School, Will Powers, who praised Nancy as a “tremendous leader and visionary. Our
after-school and enrichment programs thrive thanks to her leadership.”
Nancy was one of four recipients of the award presented annually by SPARC to auxiliary
professionals who have demonstrated distinguished leadership, innovation, creativity, and
success in their field, including a commitment to high-quality education and to advancing
diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in auxiliary programming. Recipients are also
recognized for offering exemplary support to the SPARC community by being a role model,
support, or mentor to peers.

The Excellence in Auxiliary Award was created to recognize auxiliary excellence among the many outstanding individuals, programs, and schools within their membership.
