Pike's New Mission, Vision and Values

Pike's New Mission, Vision and Values

As we conclude this academic year, we reflect with gratitude on our community who demonstrated its commitment, passion and engagement to The Pike School every step of the way. 2021-2022 was a year full of possibilities and we are fortunate to have been tasked with charting the course for Pike’s future as the Co-Chairs of Pike’s Strategic Design Team. It is an exciting time for The Pike School and we are proud to announce our new Mission, Vision, and Values statements, which will guide the continued development of our School.

Mission: A Pike education ignites a lifelong journey of discovery.

Values: A Pike education liberates human potential and possibility to transform ourselves and our world and is rooted in our motto, Non Sibi Solum. We value:

  • Authenticity: We embrace the identities of every person.
  • Intellectual Ambition: We foster curiosity, inquiry, engagement, and initiative in learning.
  • Social Good: We care for ourselves, for one another, and for our community.

Vision: The Pike School strives to be an exemplar for transformational education and a center for purposeful learning, leadership, and impact.

As you are aware, Pike spent the past 12 months responding to issues in the short-term, such as challenges brought to the fore by the global pandemic; all the while keeping our eyes on the long-term via our strategic planning process. This year’s strategic design process, in partnership with Greenwich Leadership Partners, drew upon the hopes and dreams of every Pike constituency, to recreate our mission, vision and values. Thanks to all of you for participating in our comprehensive survey and meetings to create the foundation for us to build upon. Each of the above statements is the result of shared strategic reflection by all of you and the Strategic Design Committee and Board of Trustees.

We are thankful for the hard work and dedication of our committee members named below:

  • Tasneem Dahod Dohadwala '96 P'20 '23, Board of Trustees Chair

Now more than ever, transformational education for our children rooted in intellectual ambition, authenticity and social good is critical for our world. Aligned in a shared strategy, The Pike School is prepared to create an impact in our community and beyond. Over the next twelve months, Pike faculty and staff will be designing how we will bring our new mission, vision and values to life. We have so much to look forward to together!

Thank you for your continued dedication and collaboration.
