The Pike Speech and Debate Team Goes to High School
Posted 03/29/2018 01:13PM

On Saturday, March 3rd, 11 Pike Speech Team students competed in the Shrewsbury High School Mardi Gras Speech Tournament. Our students, several of whom entered two events, did an outstanding job representing Pike at such a high level of competition.

At this tournament, Pike ninth graders Lizzy Chai and Mindy Liu competed against other high school students in four full rounds of Public Forum Debate. Public Forum Debate focuses on a current event topic. The resolution for March's Public Forum Debate was "Resolved: On balance, the current Authorization for Use of Military Force gives too much power to the president." Congratulations to Lizzy and Mindy!

Thank you to all Pike Speech and Debate Team parents for judging, driving, and supporting Pike students. We couldn't do it without you. Go Pike!
